Область примененияWinding machines are used to wind yarn from cops onto bobbins (e.g. cross-wound bobbins) which are more suitable for production. Winding machines also contain units for waxing the yarn and splicing together broken threads.
The main problems in winding and in winding machines, such as cross-winders, are similar to those encountered in spinning. A large number of winding positions on each machine and high production rates place difficult demands on the performance of the control system.
The principle of using separate winding positions with separate drives and machine units such as splicers and thread cutters generally requires a dedicated winding position controller. The winding positions operate independently and are connected to the higher-level machine controller across high-performance bus networks. The main tasks of the machine controller are centralized monitoring and the connection of additional units, such as bobbin changers, bobbin transport systems or cleaning equipment. Statistical analysis of production data, machine diagnostics and centralized operator control are performed on an operator panel which is connected to the machine controller.
